Auriculotherapy (aw-rick-u-low-therapy) or Ear Acupuncture
There are
over two hundred acupuncture points in the cartilage of your outer ear
(the auricle) that correspond to other parts of your body. Treatment of
these points is called Auriculotherapy. Research at UCLA Pain Management
Center has demonstrated that gentle, tiny, electronic impulses on these
points can be more effective than acupuncture needles. Auriculotherapy
is also efficient, often treating multiple problems simultaneously and
taking less treatment time than traditional acupuncture.

Electro Acupuncture
Traditionally, acupuncture needles were manipulated by hand to
enhance the effect of the treatment. In the 1930's, Chinese
doctors began connecting electronic instruments to the handles
of the needles to achieve the same therapeutic result. Today's
electronic instruments can accurately locate and gently treat
your acupuncture points without needles. Modern needle-less
electronic treatment can be just as effective as traditional
acupuncture.

Heat Therapy
In conditions where you are aware of feeling
generally cold, or cold in a specific body part, or have symptoms that
worsen in cold weather, the need for heat therapy is apparent. Special
heat lamps, or an herbal heat treatment, can help eliminate cold, relax
tight muscles, alleviate pain, or strengthen weak acupuncture points. |

Acupressure,
Massage, Cupping
Some health problems may be due to stagnation of energy or blood in your
body. Acupressure, massage, or cupping can move this stagnation. The
improved circulation of energy and blood nourishes the affected area
enabling your body to heal.

Dietary Recommendations
Different foods can strengthen or weaken your body, mind, and spirit.
You need to eat according to your constitution and your condition. Dr.
Maguire's recommendations focus on whole foods and whole food
supplements rather than fractionated vitamin and mineral pills. |

Lifestyle
Counseling Our modern
lifestyle contributes to illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, cancer,
and weakened immune systems. Diet, exercise, sleep, emotional well
being, and ability to deal with stress all have an effect on your
health. Following Dr. Maguire's lifestyle recommendations will help you
heal faster and maintain your improvement for a longer period of time.

Herbal Medicine
Herbs are nature's medicine chest. Over many centuries, Chinese medical
tradition has evolved a rich history of herbal medicines that are
appropriate for different health concerns. These natural plant
substances are gentle, yet effective. Acupuncture helps your body heal
"from the outside in," while medicinal herbs help your body heal "from
the inside out." |
